Project
Electric Guitar

Elements
Research, Design, Fabrication & Luthiere

This electric guitar was built for the practical portion of my Leaving Cert. Construction Studies project. Research, design fabrication and assembly was all self-initiated as part of the project.

The guitar fascia is a five piece carved laminate of mahogany, maple and walnut on a mahogany body. The bolt-on V neck is mahogany with a hand-made ebony fretboard and hand-carved headstock. The electronics and hardware are a gibson-inspired layout with dual-concentric controls, a three-pole switch and overwound Kent-Armstrong "PAF" humbuckers. The oiled finish on the guitar is complimented with a natural linseed oil and beeswax polish.
